Youth Mentor Service

Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

Supporting Neurodivergent Youth Through Professional Peer-Led Mentoring

What is the ND Mentor Service?

The ND Mentor Service from The ND Hub Gloucestershire supports neurodivergent young people, including those who are autistic, ADHD, dyslexic, dyspraxic, and more, within secondary schools and colleges.

Our service offers 1:1 mentoring and small group sessions led by trained ND mentors with lived experience. We believe that being neurodivergent is not a deficit, it’s a different way of experiencing the world. Our mentors provide understanding, relatable guidance, and support that many ND young people don’t otherwise receive.

Aims of the Service

  • Build self-understanding and confidence in ND identity

  • Foster connection and belonging through shared experience

  • Provide practical strategies for school, relationships, and wellbeing

  • Reduce isolation, anxiety, and self-stigma

  • Support engagement with education through flexible, person-led mentoring

Who Are the Mentors?
Our mentors are neurodivergent adults with experience in peer support, youth work, and education. They receive specialist training and supervision, approaching mentoring with compassion, clear boundaries, and empowerment at the core.

Mentors don’t “fix” or “correct” young people, they walk alongside them, offering insight, validation, and practical strategies to navigate school and life with confidence.

Our Core Values

We build inclusive, peer-led communities rooted in solidarity and mutual support. Belongin
