Join Us At Our Cultural SEN Fair
4 pm - 6 pm Music Works

What is SEN
SEN stands for Special Educational Needs. It means that a child or young person has a learning difficulty or disability that makes it harder for them to learn and take part in school or college compared to most others their age.
This could be because of things like:
-
Communication or language difficulties
-
Autism
-
ADHD
-
Dyslexia or other learning differences
-
Physical disabilities
-
Emotional or mental health needs
-
Sensory differences (like being very sensitive to sound, light, or touch)

Every child learns in their own way. Children with SEN might need extra help or changes to how they’re taught so they can enjoy learning and reach their potential.

Why Have a Cultural SEN Fair?
A Cultural SEN Fair celebrates diversity in all its forms, neurodivergence, disability, culture, language, and identity, while helping families better understand and access support for Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Representation Matters
Families from different cultural backgrounds often face extra barriers to getting the right support. We want you to know that your culture and your child’s needs are both valued. It is important that you see your family reflected in the speakers, stories, activities, and resources on offer.
Some SEN families have told us they feel isolated and their culture doesn’t openly talk about SEN. Together we can forge friendships, create peer support and further build our community in shared understanding.
